MIMO OTA Throughput Measurement by Using Spatial Fading Emulation Technique

This paper gives an overview of a technique being investigated in 3GPP and COST2100 for measuring Over the Air (OTA) performances of a multi antenna terminals, and Multi-input Multi-output (MIMO) systems in a controlled environment, such as an anechoic chamber. The Spatial Fading Emulation technique employs the use of an anechoic chamber, a channel emulator, and a mapping of geometry based stochastic channel model (GSCM) by the channel emulator. SATIMO’s preliminary testing results will be also presented.
